Episcopal Church Women (ECW)

We started the year with the Celebration of the Epiphany. A Jan. 6, 2014 party with a Yankee Swap and our Hat and Mitten Tree. Those winter warmers were donated to Skinner Road School.

The next meetings were used to prepare for the Women’s Tea on Sunday May 4. Connie Satton presented her program on “The Women of the Civil War. Evelyn loaned us her quilt with symbols of the Underground Railway. The Event was on a lovely spring day with many guests from the church and the community. Thank you to all the women who brought their lovely china and table settings to decorate our hall.

The fall season started with a pot luck supper to welcome Virginia back from her sabbatical. After that the Bazaar was our main focus. Everyone helped make this a very successful Bazaar. Thanks to each of you who knitted, crafted, baked, decorated, worked, and bought gifts at the Bazaar. We also thank our loyal auxiliary for their support.

Lastly, I want to thank Diane Gutzmer for organizing our kitchen all year and planning the funeral receptions held at the church. Many ladies have helped her throughout the year and those “behind the scenes” workers are the ones that make all of our events so successful. —Respectfully submitted, Ruth Hoffman, President.
