Lenten Programs at St. John’s, 2017

Lenten “East of the River” Quiet Day: March 4, 8:30AM – 1:30 PM at St. John’s, Vernon

Jesus Meets Us Where We Are: Meditating on John: 4:5-42
We will mix prayer and short meditations with extended quiet intervals for art work, walking the Labyrinth, journaling, and praying with prayer beads (or hand work of  your choosing). Coffee and light refreshments will be served starting at 8:30.  Opening worship will begin at 9 AM.  We will close with lunch and fellowship at 12:30.  Please sign up with your priest.

Wednesday Evenings in Lent

Soup and Bread Supper at 6 (if you able to help by making and bringing soup or bread, please see Virginia);

Program and Eucharist;

Dismissal at 7:30

Poetry and Prayer both help us to express our longings and our questions, our faith and our hope.  Mark Santucci will lead this series that explores the connections between prayer and poetry by looking at the prayerful works of poets, some well known and some not so well known.
