St. John’s Episcopal Church in Vernon, CT is seeking both a soprano and a baritone section leader from now (September 2024) through the end of January 2025, with the possibility of regular section leader positions going forward.
Section leaders' commitment is for Sundays: morning rehearsal from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m., the service 10 - 11:15, and the post-service rehearsal from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled (especially for Lent and Easter) with further compensation.
Compensation is $200 per Sunday.
Repertoire includes music from the baroque, classical, and romantic periods, as well as contemporary Christian.
We seek singers who have excellent sight reading skills and a flexible voice for different musical styles. This is a leadership position and singers with previous church experience are encouraged to apply.
